FAQs

What payment options are available?

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, digital ZipPay EFTPOS card payments, and accept payment plans through VetPay and Humm.

Please note that we do not run private accounts or accept cheques.

Is there parking available?

We have plenty of on-site parking available, please make sure to park in the marked bays.

Is Wilberforce Vet wheelchair accessible?

We have a ramp from the carpark to the front door, however, there is a step at the end of the ramp that a wheelchair user would require assistance with.

Are you open on public holidays?

Richmond is open for consults 10am-1pm on all public holidays except Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
On Easter Saturday, Richmond is open 9am-2pm

Wilberforce is only open on Easter Saturday, 9am -2pm, closed on all other public holidays.

What species do you see?

We’ll see almost anything that can fit through the door! We are a primarily general practice vet hospital though, so cats and dogs are our speciality. Call us for more information on whether we’re right for your pet.

I found a stray pet, what should I do?

If the pet appears to be sick or injured, or extremely young, take it to the vet clinic closest to the location of the animal, making sure to call the vet first to let them know you are coming in so they can prepare or advise you to go to the next closest vet if they do not have a veterinarian available.

If the pet appears to be in good health, take it to the local animal shelter where they will track down and contact the pet’s owner.
For domestic pets found in the Hawkesbury, they should be taken to the Hawkesbury Animal Shelter in Mulgrave. Their address, hours and contact details are below:

I found a wild animal that seems to be sick, injured or too young to be alone, what should I do?

If the animal appears to be sick or injured, take it to the closest vet for medical assistance.

If the animal appears to be too young to be alone, or you’re not able to reach the animal to take it to a vet, contact WIRES for advice and assistance.

WIRES can be contacted on 1300 094 737 or via their online Report-A-Rescue form: https://www.wires.org.au/report-a-rescue
